Jennifer Brannock Cox is an assistant professor at Salisbury University teaching classes on journalism and public relations. Her concentration is on social media and online journalism, teaching courses in mobile journalism and communicating on the Web.
Jennifer worked as a reporter at several Florida newspapers, including the Naples Daily News and Treasure Coast News. She also worked as an intern at The Washington Post’s Loudoun Extra hyperlocal news site.
Throughout her tenure as a reporter, Jennifer covered a variety of beats, including crime, government, education, business and features. She also had the opportunity to work on several platforms including online, radio and television.
She received dual degrees at Appalachian State University in journalism and public relations. She obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Alabama as a Knight Foundation Fellow, working with professors and professionals in the newsroom of The Anniston Star. She is in the process of completing her Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
Jennifer is married to fellow reporter Jeremy Cox, and they have a wonderful daughter, Charlie, and two dachshunds. They enjoy living and working on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
